The Division Automotive of the listed voestalpine AG is continuing its expansion in the important German automotive component supplier market and is simultaneously developing its activities in Central and Eastern Europe. The majority share acquisition of Dancke Stanztechnik GmbH & Co. KG and Dancke Werkzeugbau GmbH & Co KG in Böhmenkirch, Baden-Württemberg, was fixed by contract today, Thursday. voestalpine acquires 70% of both companies, the remaining shares will be held by the present owner, Walter Moldaschel, who will remain in the management board. The two companies employ approximately 200 people and post total revenues of around EUR 40 million with a positive operating result. The contracting parties have agreed to disclose the purchase price.
The Dancke company specialises in metal forming technology directly linked to its own tool making and focuses on the series production of high-quality pressed parts, components and assemblies for automotive applications. These particularly include complex parts critical to safety such as crash boxes for passenger cars, passive safety elements (such as for air bags and seat belts) as well as mounting parts.
The customers are all system suppliers, primarily well-known European 1st tier automotive suppliers.
Strengthening of Series Competence and Expansion of Presence in Central and Eastern Europe
On one hand, this acquisition will expand the voestalpine Group’s series competence in safety engineering and sophisticated pressed and precision parts. On the other hand, the acquired company’s new production site under construction in Romania will expand activities in Central and Eastern Europe, where Division Automotive is already represented with production sites in Poland and Romania. In addition to this, the new Steel Service Centre in Poland, which will go into full operation in early summer, is also aimed to a considerable extent at the automotive industry with its customer-specific pre-processing of high-quality steel strip.
